Canvas, papier en behanglijm!

Je hebt wat canvasjes nodig, mooi papier, wat behanglijm en wiebel oogjes. Een middagje inspiratie en tijd is voldoende om een leuke set dierenvriendjes te maken. Voor de mensen onder ons die niet veel tijd hebben.....het is ook goed in delen te doen. Figuurtjes knippen, per laag lijmen en drogen, afspuiten met varnish en het oogje opplakken!

Hieronder nog twee voorbeelden waar ik op het moment mee bezig ben!

Mural for my niece

 

 

2 Months ago I made this mural for my niece and her soon to be born son. The nursery is all about 'Nijntje', that is the name of the bunny and is well known in Holland. Three weeks ago she gave birth to a healthy baby boy and his name is Mick.

 

Welcome to the family Mick!

 

 

To make it easier they lend a projector. We used a large box to put it on and aimed for a spot just above the crib. The above image was the first to go on the wall.

 

They also found a nice verse to go with it. So that was step 2.

 

 

We finished with some stars. Everything was painted with acrylic paint, dark grey and different kind of brushes.

 

 

 

 

DIY nursery wall art

 

 

This is the wall art I made for the nursery. It's easy to make and this is what you will need;

 

old frames

sanding paper

primer

paint

paper

scissors

glue

 

 

We bought all kinds of old frames at the thrift store and sanded them.

 

Then we sprayed them with primer.

 

We gave the more classic frames a washing with old white, light grey and dark grey.

 

 

 

 

I searched for all kinds of happy paper in happy colours!! Then we collected different kinds of images and started cutting and gluing.

 

Make a nice collage in the end :-)

 

Eenvoudige kinderkamer kunst / Easy nursery art

Zijn ze niet schattig voor op een kinderkamer? Deze zijn voor het pas geboren dochtertje van mijn vriendin. Het materiaal dat ik heb gebruikt;

4 kleine canvas doekjes

Witte acryl verf

scrappapier

slice machine

decoupage lijm

wiebel oogjes

varnish

Are they not cute for a nursery? These are for the daughter of my friend. The materials I used;

Eerst heb ik de canvas doekjes 2 lagen witte acryl verf gegeven.

First I gave the canvas 2 layers of white acrylic paint.

Daarna met de slice machine de figuren uitgesneden uit scrap papier. Ik heb de Zoo-Topia sd kaart gebruikt.

Then I used the slice machine to cut out the images out of scrap paper. I used the Zoo-topia sd card.

Pak de decoupage lijm en breng een laag aan op je canvas. Plaats je afbeelding ( de muis) op de juiste plaats. Breng een laag decoupage aan. Breng daarna de overige lagen papier aan (het roze oor). Sluit af met nog een laag decoupage. Laat alles drogen. Ik gebruik een sponzen kwast voor het opbrengen van de decoupage. Ik heb alle lagen lijm achter elkaar kunnen opbrengen, omdat het decoupage lijm is die een lange verwerkingstijd heeft.

Put a layer of decoupage glue on the canvas. Place your image (the mouse) on the right spot. Put a layer decoupage over it. Put the rest of the pieces of paper on the image (the pink ear). Finish with a nother layer of decoupage. Let it all dry. I used a sponge brush. Every layer of decoupage was made right after each other, because this is decoupage with a long time to process all the pieces of paper.

Nu is de decoupage lijm opgedroogd. Tijd om je werk af te spuiten met een beschermend laagje varnish. Ik heb voor mat gekozen. Spuit de varnish over je werk op ongeveer 40 cm afstand.

Now your decoupage glue is dry!! Time to finish with a layer of varnish. I choosed mat varnish. Spray the varnish over the canvas at about 16 inches high.

Pak wat wiebel oogjes en plak ze op de juiste plek.

Get some wobbly eyes and place them on the right spot.

3 schilderijtjes / 3 little paintings

Deze drie schilderijtjes heb ik jaren geleden gemaakt. Ik had toentertijd nog maar een paar keer met acryl verf gewerkt. Op deze schilderijtjes wilde ik dingen uit proberen. Oud maken, vegen creeren, weg poetsen met een oude doek, ga zo maar door. Uiteindelijk vond ik ze hartstikke leuk gelukt en heb ik ze in huis opgehangen. De tekens die erop staan zijn afkomstig uit Afrika.

I made these three little paintings years ago. In that time I only had worked with acrylic paint a couple of times. These little paintings were for exploring. Making it old, wipe it off with an old rag, etc...just trying. They turned out nice and so we hanged them in our home. The signs are from Africa.

Schilderijtjes boederijdieren

Deze schilderijtjes heb ik gemaakt voor het zoontje van mijn vriendin. Hij is gek op allerlei dieren. Voor de achtergrond heb ik gekozen voor groen en grijs, want die kleuren komen terug in zijn kamer. De achtergrond is aangebracht met het paletmes. Daarna heb ik de dieren zelf dik opgezet met acrylverf, zonder het netjes en strak uit te smeren. Zo krijg je relief. Voor de afwerking ga je iets fijner te werk, bijvoorbeeld de snorharen met een dun penseel of een fijn streepje als mond. Ook heb ik gekozen voor wiebeloogjes, omdat het de beestjes net iets schattiger maakt. Na het schilderen heb ik ze afgespoten met een laagje varnish, speciaal voor acrylverf. Dit kan in mat of glans. Hieronder de individuele schilderijtjes;

I made these little paintings for the son of a friend. The boy loves all kinds of animals. For the background I choose grey and green, because these colors are also in his bedroom. The background is made with the pallette knife. After that I painted the animals with a thick layer of acrylic paint, so you can see and feel the thickness. For the finishing touch you work a bit tighter, for example the mouth of the pig or the hairs on the nose of the cat. I also choose to work with rolling eyes, because it makes the animals cute. After painting and drying I sprayed a layer of varnish, specially for acrylic paint. You can do this in gloss or mat. Below you will see the individual paintings;
