Vilten roos maken / Making felt roses

Would you like to make this beautiful rose of felt? What you will need;

Felt in the colour you like

paper mold in a round shape

scissors

glue gun

Hier zie je een papieren mal, doorsnede ongeveer 10 cm. Die heb ik op het vilt gespeld, om daarna het rondje uit te knippen en in te knippen. Met inknippen begin je aan de buitenkant, rondom, tot in het midden

Here you see a paper mold, the cross-cut is about 4 inches. Pin the paper mold on to the felt and cut the round shape out. Cut the felt in from the outside, around, to the middle.

Draai het vilt tussen je vingers vanuit de buitenkant naar binnen toe.

Turn the felt between your fingers from the outside in.

Blijf draaien totdat je op het laatst het rondje over houdt, die kan je onder de bloem vast lijmen met je lijmpistool.

Keep turning till you end up with the last little round. Put this round under the flower and hot glue it together.

Lijm ze op je schoenen

Bevestig ze op een haarband

Maak een broche

Bevestig ze op je tas

Use the flowers to;

Make a bouquet

Baby dekbedovertrek / baby blanket

Dit dekbedovertrek heb ik gemaakt voor de babykamer van mijn vriendin. Zij hebben van lief een leuk en hip behang aangebracht. Het leek mij passend om het zelfde streeppatroon na te maken als dekbedovertrek waar het dekentje in kan. Maar om dat aan allebei de kanten te doen was een beetje veel, dus voor de andere kant heb ik wat anders bedacht. Vrij eenvoudig, maar toch speels, heb ik allemaal vierkanten aan elkaar gestikt en afgewerkt met een aantal applicaties.

I made this blanket for my friend. They wall papered with 'lief' wall paper. I thought it would be nice to have a blanket with the same pattern. To do that at both sides it was a bit to busy, so i decided to do squares with some applications. Also fun and playful.

Als eerste kies je de stoffen (katoen) en kleuren en daarbij heb ik een kanten randje gekozen. Zowel een smalle kantje als een bredere.

First choose your fabric (cotton) and colours. I also bought some lace, small and a bit bigger.

De fel gekleurde stof heb ik voor een nacht in koud water met azijn laten staan om de kleur te fixeren. De witte en geruite stof zijn gewassen op een kort programma.

I did the bright pink fabric in a bucket with cold water and vinegar to fix the colour. The white and checkered fabric are washed in the machine.

Zoals je kan zien heb ik allemaal stroken aan elkaar gestikt met de lockmachine en tussen sommige lagen is er een kanten randje meegestikt. Op het behang van lief zitten drie verschillende applicaties. Ik heb geprobeert ze zoveel mogelijk na te maken met vilt. Ook het vilt van te voren laten weken in koud water met azijn, zodat de kleur gefixeert wordt.

I stitched different sized fabric strips together with the lockmachine. Some strips are sewed together with lace in between. On the wall paper are three applications. I tried to copy them with felt. Let the felt sit in cold water with vinegar, so the colour will fix, before use.

Dit is de andere kant. Allemaal vierkantjes aan elkaar stikken en op sommige vakken een ster of hart bevestigen.

Hergebruik oude tas en kleren!! Re-use old bag and clothes!!

Het hengsel van mijn tas heeft het begeven en ik vond 2 truitjes met gaatjes en een scheur erin. Voordat ik dat weg doe loop ik het stuk na op bruikbare voorwerpen.

The grip of my handbag was torn and I found two shirts with holes and a tear. Before I throw it away I search for re-usable items.

In het shirt, bij de schoudernaden, heb je vaak extra lussen voor het ophangen van je kleding. Knip ze eruit.

In the shirt, the seam of the shoulder, you will find two loops for hanging your clothes. Cut them out.

Mijn oude tas heeft van die leuke, leren kwastje eraan hangen. Die knip ik eraf.

My old bag has some nice, leather pendants. I will cut them off.

De tas heeft ook de ringen waar het hengsel aan bevestigt is. Die kan je ook hergebruiken.

The bag also has rings where the handle is attached. You can re-use them.

stoffen kaft / fabric cover

Dit is een stoffen kaft voor een map met twee ringen. Ik heb gekozen voor verschillende grijstinten met sterren.

This is a fabric cover for a file with two rings. I choose different tones of grey with stars.

Dit is de omslag. Meet de breedte, rug en weer de breedte van de kaft. En de lengte plus extra stof om naar binnen te slaan.

This is the cover. Measure the width, the back and the width of the file. And the length plus extra fabric to fold to the inside.

Lock alle randen van de lap. Vouw de beide zijkanten naar binnen en zet vast met spelden. Probeer eerst of je map past.

Trim and finish all borders of your fabric. Fold both sides in and put pins in. Try your file, so you know it will fit of not.

Verzamel je figuren, letters of cijfers van papier die je wil gebruiken. Google is dan  mijn beste vriend.

Collect the shapes and symbols (paper)you want to use. Google is my best friend.

Knip de vormen uit de stof die je wil. Speel er een beetje mee. Meerdere lagen op elkaar, afwerken met mooi stiksel, etc.

Cut the shapes out of fabric and play a little. Multiple layers, finish with beautiful stitch, etc.

Leg ze op de kaft en kijk op welke positie je ze het mooist vindt. Speld ze vast. Stik ze vast

Put your shapes on the cover en decide witch position you like the most. Pin them and stitch.



Ik heb gekozen voor de eerste letter van iemand zijn voornaam, grijstinten, sterren en onafgewerkte randen. De randen zijn dus een beetje ruig met draadjes.

I choose the 'D', stars and unfinished edges. The edges are rough and with threads.
